Egg whites..4 egg whites- 1 serving..you can eat 2 eggs a day..but no more than 4 egg yolks a week..

Low-Sugar Fruit...only 2 servings a day
Grapefruit..sparingly if on cholesterol meds
Prickly pear cactus :-)....ok :8)
Probiotic Foods...2 servings daily
Low-fat acidophilus milk..1 cup=1 serving
Breakstone Live Active Cottage Cheese 1/2 cup=1 serving
Reduced salt miso dissolved in low fat, low sodium broth..1 tbsp=1 serving
Friendly Fats...1 to 2 tbsp daily
low carb marinara sauce,
Lite soy sauce
low carb ketchup
fat free sour cream

Typical Days Menu:
Breakfast..2 eggs or 4 egg whites, 1 serv probiotic food, 1 fruit, 1 cup green tea
Lunch...Liberal amount protein, unlimited veggies, 1 cup green tea
Supper...liberal amount protein, unlimited veggies, 1 cup green tea
Snack...2nd fruit....2nd probiotic serving
Additional...Have 1-2 tbsp of friendly fat daily on salads, veggies or cooking...
Start each day with 8oz of warm/hot water mixed with 1/2 lemon...you can make a cup of hot lemon water...instead of having your morning coffee...The lemon stimulates the digsetive juices...Drink at least 7 more 8oz glasses of water each day.
EXERCISE 17 minutes a day...you can walk...dance...jog...just so you move for 17 minutes continually...alternate walking/jogging in front of the tv during the news or your favorite program...
All of the above was in the book...except the line I added about alternating walking/jogging in front of the tv..that's called 'interval exercise' and it's said to burn more calories than just walking OR jogging......the book was FILLED with details and info...I guess so we'd think we were getting our moneys worth..."I" would have been more content with a 5 page print off...with just the facts...but who asked 'me'?
I am definitely going to try this diet...and I'm going to begin tomorrow (Saturday)...and I hope many of you will join me and let's see what we can do by Christmas...what a gift to ourselves...to give ourselves a 10-15 pound weight loss for Christmas...if we start tomorrow...we will be finished with our 17 days on December 28th...
But even though I think the list of foods is good...and it 'does' look like a good cleansing/healing diet...I was disappointed in several things...because I saw places where he contradicted himself...and I don't like that...something is either right or wrong...it can't be wrong on Monday...but ok on Tuesday...IF it's an important rule...that's just my opinion...if you've been reading long...you know I'm full of 'em...
For instance...on tv he said no coffee and no tomatoes...but in the book he says coffee is ok...but then it isn't in the list...and tomatoes are listed but he said NO tomatoes on tv...I 'noticed' this...because I LOVE my morning coffee...and I could LIVE on tomoatoes with cayenne peppered all over them...(canned tomatoes...I only like fresh tomatoes in summer)
AND he talks about sugar free this and that...& if it's sugar free...that means artificial sweeteners have been added...and you can believe me or not...but artificial sweeteners are just as harmful as real sugar...if not more so...even for a diabetic....if a diabetic eats something sweetened with Splenda, for instance...his liver and pancreas don't give a rip if it's Spenda on it's way or real sugar...they're both in a panic...trying to board up the entrance way to keep it out...because all those organs know...is that something sweet in on it's way down...and it's going to wreck havoc on them...doesn't matter if it's real...or artificial...if it's sweet...it's gonna wreck havoc on the liver and pancreas...and how long can you survive if you're constantly abusing and working to destroy the liver and pancreas.....many will tell ya...not long!
I only skimmed the book...I read the chapter on the diet itself...what to eat and not to eat...and what exactly to do in phase #1...I had a very full day yesterday and was absolutely pooped when I got home...so all I wanted were the facts..I'll skim it more later and if I find anything crucial...I'll sure share it. But there's a section on what to eat on an airplane....WHAT??? ...oooooooooooooook...and what to eat at the air port....WHAT???...oooooooooook...I dont need this diet complicated with a lot of unnecessary info...if I'm gonna end up on a plane for some reason..I'm gonna be so sedated I won't be needing food 'anyway'...and I couldn't care less what I need to be eating at the airport...if I'm about to board a PLANE! :-0 I doubt I'd be hungry...I'd be busy praying...
SO...if you want to start it with me...let me know...we'll encourage and update each other...I'm starting at 136 pounds...and I've been there for 2-3 years...so I'm excited to know I may possibly see 120 by Christmas...wouldn't that be heavenly.
The book says for a 5'/small frame...I should weigh 85 to 100 pounds....hahahahahaha...when we married I weighed 83 and had a 19 inch waist...but nothing like that is ever going to happen again...I'm a dreamer but I'm not stupid...I'm shooting for maybe 110...that would be good...or just see if I can do it and how I feel as I go along...I'm wanting to dispose of 2 chins and about 15 pounds of tummy/midriff blubber......
So let me know if you're going to start it too...don't throw me to the wolves alone, people...I'm here for ya every morning..of every day..of every week...so join me in this experiment...let's see who can feel the best...the fastest...
UPDATE ON HOMELESS BOY: Shawn has found some organization...I don't have the details yet...but if he can help Jon find a job...they will pay for one months houseing at the motel...and Big Johns is trying to work him into their schedule....so I'm going to take cash in today and pay for 3 more nights...to see if he gets on at Big Johns...that will get us to Monday...and I'm going to take that money out of the Encourager's Club money...I think it's $35 a day...so that's going to be about $105 out of that fund...after Christmas...IF there's anything left :-/ I'm sending it back to the person that made the huge donation...because this is just too stressful on me...to be 'using' other people's money...
We seem to have come up with a really great group of people here...that are willing to help on occasion...so we'll just deal with helping needy people as we hear these horrendous stories..one at a time...and if you want to help on an individual case...then you'd know exactly who or what your money was going to....but for now...we have an 18 year old boy with no home...no family that cares anything about him...no food...no car..no job...he really 'is' in a desperate situation and it's cold as kraut out there...so I'm not going to set on this money that's been donated for 'needy' people...when he is about as needy as a person gets...I'll scrounge...but I'm going to use some of it...
AND if you know of a desperate family...that needs help through Christmas with food or toys...just let me know and we'll use what we need to out of this fund...and my church will also help as much as needed...
I just took on a project yesterday for our church to help 30 special needs kids at Christmas...and I haven't checked into it yet...but there's a function for these kids...and I've thought about seeing if the other 3 old geezer girls would go to that function with me and us old geezer women will help with this party for these kids...we'll see...tons going on right now and I don't know if I can even make it myself...but it's on my list of things to check into...
