Living My Best Life in 2013..UPDATE/Part 2
Well it's a cold and crispy...grand and groovy...zippity doo dah
day in the canyon this morning and my goodness gracious alive...I'm starting
out with this project of living my best life JUST LIKE we would expect me
to. If there's one thing I'm NOT, it's a success at
projects...hahahahaha But HEY, I'm still in here giving it my best
shot...another thing I'm not is a quitter...now I may FORGET I'm doing a
project.. :-/ But I don't just quit.
I started out with
these subjects and ratings on January 3rd so here's then..and now:
Wife-7......7

Christian-7....7
Family
member-4....4

Writer/blogger-6....7

NOW...let me
explain :-)
WIFE: Billy
came down with the flu just after New Years Day. Now just that happening,
threw a monkey wrench into our lives because we just never ever, get a cold or
the flu...but he did THIS time. And he was literally in bed with chills
and a fever and weak as a cat for 4 days. After that, he just couldn't
snap out of it and that rascal is as strong as an OX...it has now been 3 weeks
and he is STILL not up to par...so my duties as wife have just pretty much been
to take care of him in his recliner, which wasn't that difficult. He's
been weak and quiet and not eating hardly anything but soup and baked
potato...so that's been as easy as falling off of a log wagon EXCEPT that he
wasn't up to a lot of chit chat or me doing extra things FOR him....
I just told him
night before last that if he didn't perk up soon I was going to have to take in
a renter with an attitude...because I'm used to him running me ragged IN SPITE
OF THE FACT that I'm trying to do my OWN things and I'm tellin' ya...this
"quiet" has been difficult. I'm used to living with a
hyper jabber box that works non stop from 7am to about 4pm and then wants a 7
course meal from our kitchen...and then we have our evenings in front of
the TV to chit chat and share thoughts and ideas...so this has been WEIRD..But
just yesterday he got outside a bit ..in spite of the cold and did just a
little..so maybe we're on the mend here..
I TRIED to get him
to eat Kiwi..but he said Kiwi is sour and he has a strong defense system and he
didn't NEED it...But HEY...the old cowboy couldn't stand up to this strain
of flu and guess who took care of him while he was sick...the little Cherokee
squaw eating the KIWI....hahahahahahahahaha
MOM: This
month I just haven't had time for much of anything but taking care of Billy and
while I LOVE pampering him...he was so sick he didn't even realize the extent I
was going to ..to help him..so this won me no awards or accolades AND I
only saw a couple of our kids a couple of times this month.
HOMEMAKER: I
tinkered with a few projects that I wanted to organize..but I didn't set any
records. Part of our kitchen cabinets are done, some of the scrap book
nook is done, but no awards coming in this category either...I HAVE taken the
few things off the dining table though..and trying to watch that area and keep
it liter free...speaking of our homes...someone wants another blog on how to
make our homes 'homey'...I don't know what more we can SAY on that subject..but
we'll tackle it later this week...
CHRISTIAN:
Well..you'd think I'd have done pretty good with this one..but I even missed
church a time or two this month and normally I only miss 2 Sundays a year and
many years I miss NO Wednesday night services...but I wasn't about to go off
and leave him with chills and a fever...AND I started reading thru the bible in
a year..but had to finally order an easy to understand version because I just
don't like being on the computer so much...
FAMILY
MEMBER: I haven't even SEEN any family this month..except 2 of the kids
and one grandson...it's been a quiet and uneventful month except for the old
geezer stealing all of my attention...
HELPER OF THE
NEEDY: I was able to donate to someone in need that I heard about at
church this month, but I haven't been out and about delivering food or blankets
this month..I've had my hands full...
WRITER/BLOGGER:
Well...now this one I've actually done better on beCAUSE I'm working for Kim
now and my goodness that girl is a WORK HORSE...She calls me every morning with
a list of things I have to do on the blog and on hub pages and bloggers and
stumbleupon and linked in...and this and that and that and this....She's trying
to build an Internet business you know...using my blog...and all I have to do
is write stories and do a few other things...but GOODNESS...no wonder some
people make so much money at these Internet businesses...IT IS WORK!!!
ESPECIALLY if you hate the computer...
She told her dad
if he would loan me to her for a year..she'd buy him a new truck...but he got
tired of waiting and bought his OWN truck....hahaha But she's a worker
I'm telling ya...AND she's still doing her photography and websites for others
and has now taken on a new client thru DORS and she helps a disabled lady 3
days a week...and like Kim does EVERYTHING, she's giving this 200%..she has fallen in LOVE with this disabled lady and they are having the time of their lives...Someone tried to destroy Kim once, but she's finally climbed out of that deep dark pit and is ONE GO GETTER and if anyone deserves a big money making home business...it sure is Kim!!! Shall we pray...
PIANIST: I haven't
even set down and PLAYED the piano at home this month...with Billy having this
flu...the house has been very quiet...But I play for church and have been
church pianist continually for 57 years....I LOVE playing piano...
TRAVELER: I
haven't even been to PADUCAH
this month...I don't THINK. We DO have hopes of seeing the Florida coast..possibly
all the way around the state..when it warms up...AND I JUST MUST SEE Colorado
Springs this summer...and then there's my 2nd home in the Smoky Mountains...I have
to get there too...shall we pray...But I think Kim and I are going to make a
run over to Paducah this afternoon or tomorrow...just a little quick trip
we need to make together..and I haven't been anywhere in so long I'm actually
looking forward to a business trip with Kim...hahaha
SCHEDULING:
Kim gave me one of those little calendar books...but it's big and thick like a
notebook...and when she calls each morning, I write down my jobs for that day
in that book...hahaha So I'm actually doing a little better at
scheduling...It's just that this month has been so weird with Billy so quiet
and still...it's been hard for me to concentrate...I'm not USED to him being
quiet and immobile...
Ok that's it...but
you know me well enough by now that surely you didn't expect me to set any
records at doing something RIGHT...But I'm not going to throw in the
towel...and I'll see what I can do with ALL of those numbers....
REAL QUICK...Let
me tell ya about "Grandma B's Pantry" in Maplewood,MN....Our oldest son gave us a box of jams for
Christmas and he bought them from one of his clients in Minnesota. Now he's a financial
something or other...I'm not sure what you call it but he does taxes and helps
people get their businesses off the ground...he's done speeches and seminars
with this company he works for and traveled all over the country....but one
client is Grandma B...and she makes homemade jam's and I think breads and
muffins, etc.
Kev gave us this
big box of jams at Christmas along with several other things and I'm telling
you the truth...that's the best jam I've ever had....ONE jar was Strawberry
Jalapeno...and you all know me and jalapeno's....it is OUT OF THIS WORLD....AND
they all came in little 1/2 pint jars...and it's all natural
ingredients...Grandma B has a website and I'm going to order more of the
strawberry jalapeno...but there was Bumbleberry, Chocolate Raspberry,
Strawberry Rhubarb and others...Just thought I'd add that because this box made
such a super grand gift. www.grandmabspantry.com
Ok that's it for
today...Peace and love from the canyon...I love you all gobs and thanks so much
for stopping by. This has been a bird's eye view of the katydid and until
next time...you are loved...

One day I answered the door and this was probably 15 yrs ago, and
there stood a woman I had gone to school with who had be in the IN crowd and I
had on a apron ..I used to ALWAYS wear an apron..and she said in the snottiest
tone..."WEEEEEEELLL didn't you turn into little Miss Suzie
Homemaker" ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr This pic instantly
reminded me of that :-)
