I don't know if I'll even be able to post this, this morning...We are having torrential rains and a pretty rough storm on and off. I'll try to get it posted between outages....But I wanted to try to post to you because I get so SO many emails and private messages asking questions about Solomon Wickey and can he heal this or that and is he still in the healing business and what is his address and phone number :-) Do you need an appointment? What do I KNOW about Solomon Wickey? Just every question you can imagine. AND I get about 200 people a week find my blog just because they have typed in Solomon Wickey and did a search and their search brought them to my blog. MANY of you have stayed with me after finding me with that search.
Here's what I know at this point. I received an email from a friend of Solomons yesterday and was told that Solomon Wickey passed away peacefully...in his sleep during the night of Sunday night...August 4th. He was 75. I have no idea how that friend came up with my email unless he or someone in his family reads my blog.
Solomon had 12 kids and 113 grandkids and had been in poor health himself for the last couple of years. And yes..."I"...like some of YOU...wondered quietly to myself ..."WHY he couldn't heal himself...because 73-74-75 is really not that old in this day and time.
Solomon had no degrees and he was not licensed in any way to work in the medical/healing field. But at an early age, he felt he had a calling from God to heal the sick. He was an iridologist, which means he was able to look into people's eyes and tell what was ailing them. AND whatever it was...he had an herb and diet for that problem. His accuracy in diagnosis and ability to turn around even the most horrific illnesses was absolutely out of this world.
I've had several of my blog readers...contact me and I would put them in contact with Solomon's assistant "David" and they would go to Solomon.
ONE woman was wanting to take her grandmother, who was dying of cancer and given 2 weeks to live. She loaded her ailing grandmother in her car IN FLORIDA and headed out on the long journey to Auburn, Indiana hoping for a healing for her grandmother. She said it was absolutely the scariest road trip of her life because her grandmother was so weak and she'd have to stop along the way when the grandmother would have vomiting spells. She said the trip TO Solomon was so horrific it was almost indescribable...
She said they got to Auburn the night before and checked into their motel and headed to Solomons farm before daylight the next morning. Because she had been told you must be there by 6am back then...I think it was later changed to 8am...to sign the book on his front porch and you would just wait in your car until you were called in.
She said when they arrived there were about 15 cars already there and she met people from all over the country. One couple had come all the way from New York and she met a man and woman from RUSSIA.
She said her grandmother was so SO weak and sick she was scared to death to be so far from home with her on the road. But she said from the time they walked into Solomon's presence...her grandmother settled right down and seemed to come into this sense of 'peace'...the moaning and vomiting stopped as soon as Solomon gave her some kind of mysterious herb right there in his home office.
Solomon told the grandma and granddaughter that she DID have cancer and it was bad but that if she would do exactly as he had said...she would be able to beat the cancer and have many good years ahead of her. He told her exactly what herb to take and what diet to follow and said if she did that she would be feeling stronger in days.
The granddaughter said they were about to leave and Solomon called out to HER...the granddaughter...and he said, "My dear...would you let me look more deeply into your eyes...I believe YOU have a problem we need to address TOO if you will" The granddaughter let him look into her eyes and he diagnosed her with a kidney problem that he said would get very bad if they didn't treat it now. She said she had really been feeling bad for weeks but had been so wrapped up with her grandmother she just hadn't gone to the doctor herself.
She said by the time they left that day, her grandmother was stronger...the vomiting had completely stopped and they had a fairly uneventful trip back home...just 48 hours AFTER the horrific trip TO Solomon's home.
I didn't even know these people. The granddaughter had contacted me just as many others have done to find out how to see Solomon. As soon as they got home, the granddaughter called me from Florida and said there were just no words to describe the experience they had just had with Solomon.
She called me again to update me about 10 weeks later and said her grandmother had just passed away and she wanted me to know. She said her grandmother had come home and got on the herbs Solomon had given her and did the diet and was out and about doing her thing and then one day she said "You know...I feel so good I think I'm healed and I don't like that diet and herbs and I'm going to go back to my regular routine." She said within about 6 days, her grandmother just took violently ill and just died within a few more days. The granddaughter SAID she felt if her grandmother had just kept on doing what Solomon had told her to do....she would still be up and going strong.
I've always wanted to go up and just meet Solomon in person. AND I have always said we would one of these days. The geezer would have taken me...but we just never set a date and made that trip and I am so SO sorry we never went.
I was going to talk about several faith/natural healers today both past and present...but with the weather so bad and my internet connection coming and going...I just wanted to get this done and posted today. We'll talk about some of the others very soon...
I absolutely DO believe in healings by faith and by diet and by other natural means, herbal and otherwise. But I believe that miracles happen for those who believe and you have to have faith and believe in miracles for them to happen to you.
I could talk about Solomon all day long. I've always been drawn to the life of the amish and to any stories of faith healing. But I'm going to wrap it up for now and see if I can get this posted.
Peace and love from the canyon....and I love you all gobs....
