People that read this blog around the world and don't know me personally, probably think I'm a loud mouth fire cracker...always in everybody's business and the loudest one in the bunch in whatever situation I'm in.
When we've been out with our old geezer gang...I wasn't the biggest talker...or the loudest laugher...or the flamboyant fashion queen...I've always been the little church mouse almost invisible in the midst of any group...taking it all in. HOWEVER :8) I also don't make it a habit of taking 'anything' uncalled for...from 'anyone'.
I've been known to ask for the owner or manager of a restaurant if the food or service was extremely poor and gave them my thoughts. I've actually made citizens arrests. I've sent emails to complain about unfavorable television commercials, many times.
AND it's nothing for me to talk from the piano at church...because I've been sitting on a piano stool in front of a congregation for 58 years...so to 'me'...I'm as comfy in front of a congregation as I am at the kitchen sink.
One day, several years ago...during our song service...as I was looking back and forth at the congregation as I played...I noticed that everybody had such sour looks on their faces and they were dragging the singing and not keeping up with the piano...and they all looked like they just didn't want to BE there...
SO... I stopped the singing right in the middle of the song and I said "How many of you have grown kids and grand kids that come to visit?" Well...we're an older congregation...so most raised their hand. So I said "If your kids or grand kids came to visit and they acted like they were sour on life and they hardly talked to you and they didn't smile and they acted like they didn't want to be at your house...and they just looked like the weight of the world was on their shoulders...would that make you feel good...or bad...about their visit" Everybody looked shocked...and they were looking at each other.
And I said "Well imagine being God...and you folks have come here this morning to HIS house...and now here you sit...acting and looking like you don't even want to BE here and maybe you're plotting your next crime when you leave here...how do you think that makes God feel?"
I kept talking and talked a little too long...about attitudes and life is what you make of it...and then I realized I had been talking a little long and I looked over at Bro Tony...who was standing behind the pulpit...and I said "Oops....I got carried away....do you want me to go on into the invitation...or do you want to say a few words first" :-/ He said "No you're doing fine...but when you're done...I believe I'll say a few words if you don't mind" :-/
So I said "Well before we turn the service over to Bro Tony...let's try that song one more time and see if we can't put some life into it...and into ourselves too...because listen folks, life is what you make of it...always has BEEN and always will BE"
And I'm telling you the truth....those old folks just perked right up....By the time we got through the song THAT time...we were all smiling and laughing and when Bro Tony got back up to speak....HE got up laughing. And we've had a lively song service ever since.
But seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? I could have just let it go...let the song service drag...and we'd all still be dragging our songs at a snails pace....And that's been years...and our song service has been super ever since....
THERE IS POWER IN ONE...and it's just like good old Bro Tony used to say..."If you don't stand for something...you'll fall for anything." One person absolutely CAN make a difference!
This old world, folks...is getting in a sad SAD situation.
But WE CAN CHANGE the filthy commercials on television by writing or emailing and complaining, like the one that airs during "Survivor" and the sleazy Hardee's commercials and a few others.
WE CAN CHANGE the fact that our schools are filled with bullies...by forming groups and taking action.
WE CAN CHANGE the whole fact that everything about this old world is going down hill.
We absolutely CAN make even Metropolis what we want it to be...we absolutely CAN make our surroundings and our whole world what we want them to be...
ONE PERSON absolutely CAN make a difference...it's all up to you...
We ALL have the power to influence others....will your influence be good...or bad?
Thanks so much for stopping by...I love you all gobs and gobs....

I borrowed this photo from "The Power Of One/Mind Map Inspiration" I hope they don't mind...but I just loved it.

Dr Update: Well I was told yesterday...that the pain I'm having is from tendons and ligaments that were torn on each side of the foot and up the shin. Dr Lettuce said that those things heal so slow...I could have pain and swelling and a purple foot on and off for 6 months or so.
He said I can start working at my own pace now....try to walk a few times a day without crutches or the walker and just work up slowly...and within 2-3 weeks I should be able to hobble to church or the grocery without using either one.....He said he's a BONE doctor and sometimes he forgets to emphasize other damages but that I had major damage to my foot. He said the degree of break was major and there were many tendons and ligaments torn on 3 different places on my foot, ankle and up my leg....I still have to be down and elevate it off and on during the day....but today...I start trying to get my life back....I'm not TOO excited...because just sitting here typing this blog....it's already throbbing at about a 7 on the 1 to 10 scale.........BUT....I complained because I had pain in my leg and then I met a man with NO legs.......................................................you get my drift?
