Thanksgiving Traditions and Mustard Seed Miracle # 3 Has Arrived

What's the very first thing that pops into your mind when you hear the word Thanksgiving?

If we were in a church service on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, our pastors would probably get up and ask that question and then follow it with his own answer and he'd say "We think of being thankful...right?  And we think of all of our blessings and how blessed we really are...right?"

But noooooooo....most of us are just plain old human and we're not to the saint level just yet and when we hear the word Thanksgiving...many things run through our minds all at once.  And probably the first thing is...NOT how blessed we are...but of the big fat baked turkey with dressing and whipped potatoes and all the trimmings and pumpkin pie on the side, that we will be feasting on...on that day...RIGHT?
And as we think of that turkey feast our minds are just spinning like crazy with other things...like a big family gathering around the dinner table with gabbing and laughter as each one tries to tell the biggest and best story of the day.

For many, Thanksgiving day starts with the huge Macy's Thanksgiving day parade.  That's the way it always was in our house when the kids were little...and geezer would pile up right in the middle of the kids as they would all ooohhh and aaahhh at all the extravagant floats.
Not many MOMS see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade...because they're always in the kitchen putting together that big feast that every one is going to share later.

And then for some there's football during the day.  And many of the women that have worked so hard to put the feast together are dreaming of Black Friday and the big shopping spree ahead of them the next morning in the blistering cold...fighting mobs of people.  EeeeeeeeeeeeeeGADS on BOTH !!!
We're not into football or hand ball or any OTHER kind of ball or sports OR the black Friday shopping...so after the big feast...we just gab and share stories and often take out boxes of old pictures to go through and when the last of our family goes up the lane heading to their own homes...I hit the kitchen to put it all where it goes and then jump right smack dab into my jammies to relax and enjoy the rest of the day with this old geezer.

When I was just a little girl...I always wanted the wishbone out of the turkey and 2 of us would often hold it under the kitchen table and break it to see who got the longest piece and then make our wishes that we just KNEW were going to come true.

And speaking of wishes and miracles  :-)   I have just been told my THIRD Mustard Seed Miracle is in the works.  Now like before...I can't tell you what it IS just yet and it may be a while.  But 'this particular mustard seed miracle' is the one I was really sweating...but never ever under estimate the power of God!

This old geezer was my first mustard seed miracle.  I prayed him right into my life way back in the mid 1960's....HE didn't even know I walked the face of this EARTH...and I was a long LONG way from being a flirt...OR even saying "Hi", for that matter... if I'd ever be so lucky as to pass him in person.  So I had to do what I knew best and that was to turn it over to the Lord....and CHA CHING!!!  Here he is...snoring to beat the band ... right this minute... just about 3 feet on the other side of this door I'm typing beside.  And he's had me in his hip pocket for almost 50 years now...my very favorite place to be...

And then last December...I was blessed with Mustard Seed Miracle #2...when God blessed Kim with Evan and Evan with Kim.  And those two really are a match made in Heaven.  Kim had gone through a really rough time and a really bad divorce and she just swore to beat the band that she'd never date ever EVER again..."AND GET OFF YOUR SOAP BOX MOM....BECAUSE IT IS NOT NOT NOT going to HAPPEN"   Soooooooooooooooo I knew love is what makes life worth living and I didn't want Kim to miss out on the most important thing in the world....so I had to call on the Lord once again...and I said "It's meeeeeeeeeee again Lord...I've got a prayer that needs an answer....It's meeeeee again Lord....I've got a problem...that "I" can't solve....And I don't mean...to worry you...but here I am facing something new....and I need help that only comes from youuuuuuuuuuu...It's me again Lord"
And God didn't even take a lot of time with this one...he just said "Well Okie Dokie...since you've been so kind as to ask for my help....let me send her the cream of the crop"
He went to culinary school and I'm telling you the truth....that goofy Evan...has taught me more about cooking and this and that in the last year...than I had learned all these years...all by myself.  And if you want to see what he looks like....if you'll just look up kindness and jolly personality in the dictionary...you'll see his smiling face.  And he keeps Kim laughing 24/7...He's just what she needed and God knew that...Thank you Lord...for your blessings on ALL of us....

But now this 3rd Mustard Seed Miracle just came out of no where...I had been praying to beat the band...but I was expecting this one to really take some time....but NOPE...God said "You've been a pretty good servant and let me just get the ball rollin' on this one for ya TOO"

Soooooooo I'll still be praying #3 pans out and I'm on to mustard seed miracle #4.

Miracles happen for those who believe...and "I" believe in MIRACLES!

Peace and love from the canyon...I love you all gobs and gobs and thanks SO much...for stopping by.

Well my goodness....I just typed in Mustard Seed Miracles + photo to get a pic to put at the bottom of this blog and our wedding photo was on that page...for goodness sakes  :-)  I TOLD you all we had a very small wedding because geezers Army leave was changed at the last minute...so we just ditched our New Hope Church wedding plans and threw it together in mom and daddys living room.  See how sparce that living room is....this was the 1960's  :-)
That's my sister Sue and Geezer's Uncle Sherman that stood up with us....and that young rascal beside me there....is the soul mate I prayed up with my FIRST mustard seed ....  ALL THINGS are possible...only believe  :-)
