I Believe In Miracles

In this undated photo provided by Jenny Shultz is her brother, Tim Bowers, 32, of Decatur, Ind. Bowers, who fell about 16 feet from a tree and was left paralyzed from the shoulders down after a hunting accident, told his family he wanted to be taken off life support rather than be dependent on others for the rest of his life. He died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, the day after the accident, about five hours after doctors removed his breathing tube. (AP Photo/Courtesy Jenny Schultz)

I don't know about most of you folks...but "I" absolutely believe in miracles and I'm just almost LIVID about this story coming out of Decatur, Indiana this morning.

Tim Bowers was doing what he loved more than anything on Saturday when he fell 16 feet...right out of his tree stand while deer hunting.  He received injuries that made doctors say he was going to be paralyzed from the shoulders down.

Within 24 hours...his family was asking doctors to wake him up and tell him of his prognosis and see if he wanted to live or die....WHAT?????

They must have been some really really busy people!

Tim was only 32 years old and had just gotten married in August and had a baby on the way.

His family said they just knew that Tim wouldn't want to spend his life in a bed or wheel chair and he needed to be given the choice of possibly living the rest of his life as an invalid or having the doctors pull the plug and ending it all.

Well WHERE WAS THE FIRE?????   WHAT was the RUSH?????   IT HAD ONLY BEEN 24 HOURS for goodness sakes alive!!!  Doesn't anyone believe in the power of pray and MIRACLES ANY MORE?????

Can you imagine going through an accident like this and being awakened by family within hours who said "Well...you're in the hospital....you've fallen out of your tree stand and you're paralyzed from the shoulders down.  Doctors think you will be this way for the rest of your life.  Do you want to take the chance of living the rest of your life in a bed or wheel chair...or do you want us to pull the plug? "

Now you know Tim had to be on meds out the wazoo and be in horrific pain and not able to think clearly.  I know from just my little broken leg...that there were days I didn't know my head from a hole in the ground for the first 4 or 5 WEEKS...and geezer would say "Do you know what you just said?"  :-/   or "Don't eat the paper Katy...if you're hungry I'll get you some soup"  :-0

Well "I" can't even IMAGINE a family doing that....If Tim was MY husband or son or brother....it would be a year later and I'd still be saying..."Now Tim...you're going to be alright.  I know you're tired....and I'm tired and we're ALL tired...but anything worth having is worth working for and I need you to help me pray and pray hard and we're all praying and believing and ...YOU CAN BEAT THIS!"    And I WOULD be expecting Tim to walk and have a good life in due time....in God's timing.

That's what a miracle IS, folks.  It's something that happens that is absolutely extraordinary and unexpected and hard to believe.  And miracles happen many times a day...every single day... all over the world.

MANY MANY people have gotten up out of wheel chairs and walked when doctors said it absolutely couldn't be done.  DOCTORS aren't GOD!  And GOD is the one that calls the SHOTS when all is said and done and he CALLS the shots...in His own TIME frame.

Goodness....this family didn't even give time for any swelling to go down or any specialists to be contacted or ANYTHING...

Well...I like all my blogs to be uplifting and warm and fuzzy.  "I" need to WRITE blogs like that and most folks prefer READING blogs like that...But once in a while something will happen and just send me on a RANT....like THIS story.

I'll bet at Tim's wedding in August...he was so happy and feeling so overwhelmingly blessed and loved.
Little did he know that in just 3 short months...a little cloud was going to come over his world and ...goodness gracious...I can't even SAY it....much less....be one who would DO it.

But to me....this story was just BEYOND ridiculously CRUEL.  Just when Tim needed his family MOST...they woke him up with the impression that HIS injuries were just too much for their schedules.......Oh goodness...I'm getting madder as I write....let's just wrap it up for today.

This story really struck a chord with me because my geezer and one of our sons and both our grandsons are in tree stands many times a week...however...they all use harnesses....but it was just an overwhelmingly sad story to me......

Miracles happen...for those who believe....and "I" believe in Miracles!
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE....ONLY BELIEVE!

Peace and love from the canyon...I love you all gobs and thanks so SO much...for stopping by
