It's The Katydid....Just Checking In

  

Well...it's a grand and groovy...zippity doo dah day in the canyon this morning and I'll be jiggers...if it isn't cold as kraut outside...and the ground is a white as a new fallen snow  :-)  without the snow  :8)  Old Jack Frost came last night and left his calling card. 


Now I'm going to tell you right up front...todays blog is going to be short and sweet...be

CAUSE...there was another disaster in our community late yesterday afternoon and it has me a little more antsy than usual and "I" am going to be spending some quality TIME with this old GEEZER today!  I've got a cozy fire in the fireplace and it's been going since about 4:30am....and we're going to watch some Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith and probably about half a dozen deer hunting shows...We are going to 'savor some moments' today...

Remember just 2 weeks ago tomorrow...when Brookport, Illinois was just almost destroyed by that horrific tornado?  Well it's a very small town and their mayor is also a mail carrier TOO.  And he was on his route late yesterday afternoon and was hit head on by another vehicle and we are being told this morning that he has a fractured neck, back, both arms and legs and OH my GOODNESS...I just can't even imagine that...after all the whining I did over my little broken leg/ankle/foot. 

And geezer and I took a short ride yesterday afternoon...deeper into the country...to look at deer in the fields and we were topping a hill and there was a truck coming across the other side of the hill on the wrong side of the road ...OUR side...and geezer had to swerve and run kinda off the road to miss that fancy new truck.   WHAT is WITH people...can't anyone DRIVE anymore?   

We have construction going on...on our I-24 bridge that connects Kentucky and Illinois.  And it's down to one lane for now...and my goodness, people are driving 15 miles an hour across that bridge.  Good thing most of them weren't around when all we HAD was one lane for each side....nobody would have been able to get ANYWHERE!

But we're just going to have a good and relaxing day.  No real plans.  We're starting our juicing back up today and going to try juicing twice a day and then have 1 healthy meal.  We'll see what that does.  I know it will make us feel better and I HOPE we'll both lose a little weight.

Now just think about it.  Don't you all feel kind of sluggish since Thanksgiving?  Don't you feel tired and draggy and maybe having a hard time keeping your eyes open even earlier in the evening?  Well if you do....do you know WHY?  It's all that garbage that we ate on THANKSGIVING!  And yes it was OH SOOOOOOOO delicious when it went down...but it sure is wrecking havoc with all of our working inards NOW.  I just feel YUCK....and for no reason than that I just ate too many excitotoxins on Thursday.  And EXCITOTOXINS are those additives they put in our packaged foods that are all spelled with 46 letters or more and we can't pronounce a one of them.  But they sure do some damage when we swallow them down the old goozle....

SOOOOOOOOOOOO today we're drinking lots of water...with a tsp of apple cider vinegar in each full glass...and we're going to have just carrot juice for today's juice....twice today and then I don't know what for supper....maybe a big salad and a small grilled steak or something...we'll see. 

I know many of you were shopping yesterday....and may go again today...who knows.  But yesterdays blog was packed with some pretty good information...even if I DO say so myself....so when you get done here and find I really didn't have much to say....go find yesterday blog on the left side of this page and read YESTERDAYS blog....where I have some priceless information.

Some days we're the bug and some days we're the windshield.....Some days this blog is a powerhouse of information and some days I just crawl through it by the skin of my teeth...like today  :-)

But we're going to wrap it up for today.....Lord willing and the creek don't rise we'll have a good blog tomorrow....so I hope you can check back.

One more thing I know "I" am thankful for....and that's that I'm NOT a shopper....I can't even IMAGINE getting out in that Black Friday crowd....I wouldn't fight that crowd if they were giving AWAY their stuff....But if you went and survived...I'm glad YOU had fun...if that's your cup of tea...
