Round Knob Canyon Chili
This makes a delicious chili!
I don't measure so just taste test and add to your taste buds. You just have to adjust the amount of each ingredient depending on how big a pot you're making. We like our chili to be very thick with beef and beans and enough tomato and onion for a good match. And we love rich RICH flavorful chili....
Ingredients
Ground Beef
Canned Tomatoes
Hormel Chili with Beans
chopped onion ( braised at the end of browning gr. beef)
chili powder
parsley
Tomato Juice...or sauce...or V8
Parmesan (and for my crock pot that I use just for me and geezer...I use about 2-3 tbsp. at end of cooking the chili...stir in well)
Jalapeno peppers diced....and about 3 tbsp. of the vinegar sauce out of the jar
Cayenne ( I cook with a lot of cayenne...so I probably put a couple tbsps. in even a small pot)
Brown the ground beef and onions and add to crock pot...
I always braise the canned tomatoes and chili with beans in my big skillet before adding to crock...and I add the chili powder, parsley, jalapeno and vinegar sauce to that...and dump it into the crock with gr beef and onions...
Heat the tomato sauce or whatever tomato liquid you're going to use and put in crock....
When chili is bubbly and about ready..add the 2-3 or how ever many tbsp.'s of Parmesan and stir well...let cook a few more minutes in crock pot.
