Swamp Cabbage Recipe

I got this Swamp Cabbage recipe when we went on the World's Longest Yard Sale the first time in 2008.  We were getting hamburgers at a stand...but the woman asked if we'd like to at least try the swamp cabbage....we hadn't even noticed it on the menu...so we just said we'd buy ONE bowl and split it to try it.  We ended up going back for a 2nd bowl  :-)  It was absolutely delicious.....So here we go....

Swamp Cabbage Recipe
1 large head cabbage
1 large sweet onion
1 lb. ground beef
2-3 turnips or potatoes diced to about the size of a nickel...I've used each alone and both at 1 time
1 large bell pepper diced
1 16 oz can diced tomatoes
1 16 oz can tomato sauce
1 16 oz can tomato juice
1 jalapeno pepper salt, pepper, seasoned salt

You all know the drill...brown the ground beef and onions...and add that and the drippings to the rest and cook in a pot until done....this stuff is absolutely delicious with corn bread....in fact, I think I'll make some next week." I think you'll love this recipe....it is SOOOOOOO good...very full of flavor and you'll want more and more.... It looks a little messy....but you just won't believe the taste.....
