"They say that gardeners live in a beautiful world
HOWEVER it's only that way because they make it so!"
I'm getting so many questions about our gardens
I'm not a shopper or a television watcher!
People email or pm me to tell me
how lucky I am and how much they wish they had something like we have. But the fact of the matter IS ... absolutely any one of you, regardless of your financial situation ... can have exactly what we have in your own little corner of the world.
You can often find packets of seed for 50 cents at the Dollar Store and other places ... and 2 or 3 of those little packets can make a huge impact on your yard if you have a smaller yard. We happen to have 5 acres and I'm not a shoe or clothes or jewelry fanatic ... and I don't spend money frivolously ... so if I want to buy a pound of flower seed for $12.95 ... I can afford to DO that.
If you want to live a charmed life ... you must first CREATE that charmed life. And rule #1 IS... You can not create a charmed life by sitting around and twiddling your thumbs and whining about what you don't have ...
To create and live a charmed life ... First and foremost without question is keeping things clean and tidy around your home and yard! Because it doesn't matter if you have gardens worthy of a massive garden tour ... if you have junk laying here and there ... it's going to take away from the beauty of your gardens.
For some folks, if they're mowing and the mower breaks down in yard, they just stop for the day and leave that mower set for days or longer. If geezer is mowing in Round Knob Canyon and the mower breaks down ... it doesn't matter if it's 104 degrees and a storm is brewing, HE is going to have me out there helping him push that mower into the workshop if he can't do it alone. We leave nothing 'undone' till later! Geezer has a motto which we've all always lived by "Don't put it DOWN ... PUT IT AWAY!" And we're just in the habit of doing exactly that. Now this kind of thought process is just normal for us. And yes we take time for day trips or supper out on occasion. But we get our work done 'first'. Our home and 5 acres are literally our hobby, so that makes it easy for us.
To live a charmed life with beautiful gardens and a warm and fuzzy little cottage, it must all be kept neat and tidy.Well I didn't mean to give a lecture this morning.
I really am very tired this week. SO much to do every single day and now in the next week, I have 4 big functions to cook for besides cooking for us, keeping house and gardening and doing other regular dailies.
But I meant to come on here this morning and just post a few photo's of our gardens and give you a little better peek into our world. SO we may talk about creating a charmed life another day soon

... but for today, let's just look at some photo's of Round Knob Canyon.
So just click the link below and with a little luck ... it will take you to the rest of my garden photos.
