Tooth Whitening at Home For Pennies

Let's touch a bit on teeth whitening this morning!  I get a lot of emails wanting to know more about oil swishing or oil pulling and if it really works and will it whiten teeth.

YES!  To BOTH...

I first learned of oil pulling several years ago and I was shocked I hadn't

heard of it sooner.  It sounded like the ultimate 'goofy' remedy that wouldn't work to me.  But after researching quite a bit ... like I do on everything ... I decided I just had to try it.

I stood at the bathroom sink for a good 10 minutes that first time ... trying to get up the nerve to put that tsp of oil in my mouth because I couldn't imagine doing that and not getting sick.  But I finally did it and was so surprised that it wasn't that bad.

After about 3 days I could really see a difference in my teeth and I was thrilled.

You take about 1 TBSP of a good oil, (I started with a tsp) I prefer Safflower or Sunflower or Sesame Oil - and you put it in your mouth and just start swishing it back and forth through your teeth.

As you swish, the oil will start to thin,
DO NOT SWALLOW IT!!!

The oil will pull toxins out of your system and when you spit out the oil you will be getting rid of some of the toxins in your body.

Swishing will also whiten teeth...and it will loosen plaque and you will feel chunks of plaque in your mouth after about the 3rd or 4th day IF YOU HAVE plaque...

When I swished for the first time...on the 3rd day...a big piece of plaque came out and it was so big I thought I had lost part of a tooth...I put it in a kleenex and headed for the woodshop to Geezer and he looked in my mouth and he said, "Well I'll BE...THAT's a big piece of plaque from behind your front tooth...and I see the hole it fits"  :-)  I got out several pieces of plaque by oil swishing.

You can also whiten your teeth by brushing twice a day with baking soda and peroxide...and drink your dark cola's with a straw - you will see a difference in just a few days with the baking soda and peroxide, the thing is being consistent!

Well, I've gotta get n the move ... I actually thought life slowed down a bit as we got older.  But seems like our days in the canyon get more and more busy as time goes on.  The days of heavy rain last week just wrecked havoc with my flower beds, so we are already beginning to put the canyon to bed for the winter.  And today will be no different ... we plan hours of working in wildflower patches today ... because Geezer likes every single stem cut down and put in the brush pile... oooooooooohhh good  :-)

Peace and Love from the canyon ... Now, go out and make this one of the best days you've ever had!!
